In a previous editorial (Villard and Nudds 2006), we discussed the fact that scientists are still struggling, especially in the arena of conservation biology, to identify the point at which analysis becomes advocacy and the position that it is appropriate for responsible scientists to assume. The potential for blurring distinctions between ethical, moral, and spiritual decisions and scientific decisions (e.g., Decker et al. 1991) is probably never stronger than in cases involving the conservation of endangered and threatened species.....View full editorial:
